The Game

the game - revised
(poem / 2006)

The game we play, it has no name
It kills behind the mask of fame
And none are blind to its ancient flame
For countless graves have players to blame
Your mind it will so quickly maim
As the losers sink into silent shame
For Death the losers' souls will claim
But the winner is he who escapes the Game.
